Pond/SCM geometry QC: three checks against criteria you enter, one boundary pick.
What it does
- Freeboard: top of bank vs design high water + required freeboard.
- Side slopes: steepest interior H:1 inside the top-of-bank boundary vs your max.
- Storage: computed volume below design high water vs required storage.
- CSV + findings palette; the CSV documents the check for the submittal file.
Worth knowing
- Geometry only, routing and outlet sizing are the engineer's calcs.
- The boundary must be the top of bank; an outer easement line inflates storage.
- Draft work product compared against criteria you enter, requires professional review.
Dialog

VDCPONDQCSettings file:
%APPDATA%\VDC\PondQc\settings.jsonWhen to use it
- Before submitting the SCM - does the drawn pond hold what the calcs assumed.
- After a bank regrade - did freeboard or storage move.
How to run it
- Run VDCPONDQC; pick the pond surface and enter design high water, freeboard, max slope, required storage.
- Pick the top-of-bank boundary polyline.
- Work the findings palette; the CSV documents the check for the submittal file.
Options
- Criteria: design high water, required freeboard, max interior side slope (H:1), required storage - all user-entered.
Watch out for
- Geometry QC only - hydrology/hydraulics (routing, outlet sizing) are the engineer's calcs.
- The boundary polyline must be the top of bank - an outer easement line inflates storage.
- Compares against criteria you enter - not a compliance determination.
